Lend me a shoulder
Days of peril are far from gone,
Lend me a shoulder, friend;
In such times, that's nice to lean on
Lend me a shoulder, friend.
Drained and disdained, from joy detained,
Only sorrow seems sustained;
Life is strained, seeing me so pained,
Oh Lord, are you entertained?
Burning in the reddest fires,
Is my lonely crying heart;
From this life that hurts and tires
I wonder when I will part!
For loss append, to life amend,
Even I dare intend,
On support I wholly depend,
Lend me a shoulder, friend!
